Chapter 1: Welcome to Freaktown

It was a gloomy day in the idyllic town of Hidden Springs when someone new came to town. The rain was pouring as the taxi pulled up, and two Sims got out and prepared to start their new lives.

Okay, one Sim and one dog.

Readers, meet Lylah Wolf (and Anubis). Lylah has, erm, a bunch of traits I can't really remember right now... (I'm such a professional). Anyways, she's well excited about being the founder of my brand new legacy.

Heyyyyy, you're meant to be excited, not moody! We've only been here a few minutes, you can't be having a strop at me already.

After her little temper tantrum Lylah took herself off to the attic to work on her painting skill.

Anubis meanwhile just ran around the house looking all adorable.

Oh come on, even the fricking dog is frowning at me now!

Now I'm not really a dog person in real life, but I find they can be very useful in the early days of Simming in terms of money making. With this in mind I had Lylah teach Anubis the basics of the hunting skill, and set him out into the neighbourhood to find me some goodies.

Later that night I found myself feeling very glad that we had a guard dog in the house when our very first burglar popped up, all casual-dressy in shades and an umbrella.

Come on Anubis, sick 'em boy...

Where are you going?? YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!

With Anubis having failed me so spectacularly I sent Lylah out to deal with the burglar. I wasn't expecting much but I at least thought she might be somewhat useful, but nope! All she did was run about like a headless chicken whilst the burglar freaked out about the hail.

Eventually though she pulled herself together enough to call the cops.

The police soon showed up, but did they arrest the robber? Did they buggery. Instead the policeman also had a spaz about the hail whilst the burglar slipped out the backdoor and ran away. Fortunately he didn't take any of Lylah's meager possessions though.

For the next few days in the Wolf household things were, mercifully, quite uneventful. Lylah continued working on her painting skill, and registered herself as a self-employed Painter.

Meanwhile Anubis continued to build his hunting skill.

The next night we had a bit more excitement going on when some weird twinkly lights appeared in the sky...

Is the Wolf house just a magnet for freakery or what- it's only been like a week and we've already had a burglar and an alien abduction.

Lylah was eventually returned to Earth, but was understandably freaked out by her close encounter.

The following morning I decided I had better send Lylah and Anubis out to actually meet some people.

Lylah met some folks, did the whole small talk thing, and even took part in an eating competition (and lost, for shame).

But the recurring theme of freakishness continued as later that evening a freaking zombie just popped up, as you do.

You know it's kind of hard having your Sims socialise when they're self-employed. I pretty much need Lylah home at all times so she can actually make some money, which she was actually pretty good at doing now she was also pursuing the inventing skill.

And, as I mentioned earlier, having a doggie enabled Lylah to make even more cash as Anubis brought home all sorts of rocks and trinkets, which Lylah was able to make even more money off of with her trusty gem cutting machine.

But eventually I decided Lylah was due a bit of a break, so I sent her out on the town as she accepted an invitation to a party at her friend Lauren's house.

Whilst there she met a lovely young man called Dexter.

She bonded with him over a mutual appreciation for rock, paper, scissors.

Though he didn't react too well when he lost...

A few days later Lylah ran into Dexter again at another party, where she wore her sexy cheerleader outfit and he wore, erm, this...

Evidently Dexter was pretty taken with Lylah by this point.

And she was rather into him too, as shown by when she decided to nom on his bun... *snigger*

Afterwards the twosome had a lovely slow dance in the kitchen, and I marveled at just how much of a lame duck this party was. There's no one else there!

Still, Lylah and Dexter enjoyed themselves, even though Lylah got her foot stamped on.

In the end though they decided that kissing was better than dancing.

Though apparently not for long... Bloody hell this boy has weird mood swings. Plus why would you dress all phallic-like and then deny access to the goods? What a minge tease...

The next night Lylah invited Dexter over so she could have another go at getting into his knickers.

Things went a bit better this time.

Okay, a lot better.

Erm, Anubis? This is supposed to be a private moment yanno- you might want to vacate the area?

Or not...

I don't know what you're looking at me for Lylah, it's your dog, your problem.

But despite Anubis being a bit crap on occasion he did have his plus points, like when he found this humongous meteor.

Sale of the meteor brought in a fair bit of money, and with it Lylah was able to purchase an alchemy table and pursue yet even more skills.

But despite her brainyness Lylah wasn't always so smart, case in point- she keeps eating her dinner on the toilet in spite of the fact that we actually do have several seats in the house. Silly girl...

As the days progressed in Hidden Springs Lylah and Dexter continued to spend a lot of time together.

On one such occasion they paid a visit to the local park and had some winter fun building a snowman.

Then they had an altogether different type of fun...

Er, guys? You might want to put some clothes on, it's cold out.

Lylah decided that instead of, yanno, dressing appropriately she would rather ask Dexter to be her boyfriend.

He said yes.

And then Lylah promptly froze solid and fell over...

Dexter very helpfully fucked off at this moment in time. I did send Anubis over to help but being a dog and all he was there was nothing he could do.

It's alright though, eventually a kind stranger came over and thawed her out.

In the morning Lylah was invited over to Dexter's house to meet his family.

There was a certain amount of trepidation as Lylah followed Dexter inside. She hadn't heard much about his family, only that his mother had died in a tragic accident some years earlier so it was just him and his dad, and his step-sister who had moved out a while ago.

As it turned out, meeting Dexter's father would turn out to be very interesting indeed...
